5 eco-friendly closet organizers that are great for small spaces

It’s the middle of November as I write this which means we’ve finally made it to the heart of the fall season! With winter on the horizon, it’s time to take a step back and assess the cold-weather wardrobe.

I like to capsule my wardrobe with separate seasonal capsules. As I began to bring out my winter gear, I noticed how much I had to “change over” to get organized for the next season.

In this post, I’ll be sharing my favorite closet organizers to help you save space and prepare for seasonal clothing swaps! These organizers are what I use to keep my capsule wardrobes tidy and easy to change over!

DOIOWN S-Type Stainless Steel Clothes Hangers

S-Type hangers have a multitude of functions. These hangers in particular are extremely helpful with folding pants and hanging belts or scarves. I keep my jeans in a separate drawer, but I absolutely love these S-type hangers for my business pants and nicer clothes.

The great thing about these hangers is that they’re made of stainless steel. They can hold a good bit of weight so, if you wanted to hang your jeans, you totally could!

They work perfectly for holding all of my winter scarves, business pants, and some of my heavier winter gear!

Pros:

  • Sturdy, can hold a lot of weight
  • Perfect design to hold several clothing items
  • Great for scarves and pants

Cons:

  • They can’t hold other items of clothing very well

ROMOON 4 Drawer Fabric Dresser

I live in a small apartment with hardly any closet space. Standing dressers are often too big and normal closet holders are too flimsy.

That’s where the ROMOON dresser comes in.

This dresser is compact yet effective. It can hold up to 15 folded t-shirts per drawer and 6 jeans per drawer. The best part is that it is made of eco-friendly materials that, should I ever dispose of it, will biodegrade better than all of the plastic organizers you see in stores.

It has a sleek and classic design so it looks unobtrusive in nearly any environment. I’ve always found it hard to match these smaller closet organizers with my room decor, but this organizer makes decorating a breeze.

Pros:

  • Made of Eco-friendly materials
  • Sleek, classic design
  • Deep drawers

Cons:

  • None yet!

Simple Trending 3 Tier Shoe Rack

I’ve been looking for an affordable shoe rack for quite some time. This shoe rack for simple trending met all of my expectations. While it isn’t necessarily “unique” or “clever,” it does exactly what you’d expect it to.

The great thing about this shoe rack, however, is that it’s stackable, meaning you can buy two and stack them on one another. While I don’t have a need for that feature at the moment, I find it comforting that—should I get more shoes—I can buy a second rack and set it atop the first.

What was tricky about this rack, however, was the assembly. The instructions were a bit unclear. Overall, it’s a great shoe rack. And again, like with the above organizer, I’m glad that there is no plastic in the makeup of this organizer!

Pros:

  • Great shoe rack that holds up to expectation
  • Made without plastics
  • Stackable for more storage space

Cons:

  • Tricky to assemble

Simple Houseware Drawer Divider

I cannot tell you how helpful these drawer organizers have been. Wow! I used to use DIY cardboard organizers (which were great don’t get me wrong), but they didn’t hold up to the test of time.

These organizers are foldable and made of fabric material. While I still believe there is some plastic in the making of these products, they’re really sturdy and nice.

What I liked most about these organizers was the fact that you choose from a number of different color and style variations. Mine match the image in the link with several cells to fold up socks and underwear.

These dividers work great in any dresser drawer and pair really seamlessly with the ROMOON dresser I mentioned above!

Pros:

  • Makes organizing underwear easy
  • Made of a sturdy fabric
  • Fits in any drawer

Cons:

  • None really!

ClosetMaid 9-cube Organizer

I love a good cube organizer. I’ll admit, my cube organizers actually exist in my kitchen and office rather than in the closet or bedroom. However, I’ve been considering getting one to help organize our small space!

Cube organizers are extremely versatile. You can buy baskets and fabric bins to put items in. You can fold up clothing and stack in on the shelves. Or, you can place your shoes in the individual cubbies.

What makes the cube organizers amazing is their unique “featuring” design. By this, I mean their ability to act as a shelving unit/display area makes them fun to decorate. And you could totally use one as a bookshelf if you desired!

I think it’s be cool if I had more hats to display on one of these organizers.

Pros:

  • Versatile
  • Acts as a decorative shelf
  • Easy to assemble

Cons:

  • May require additional baskets for storage
  • There isn’t always a backing on each cube

So there you have it! Those are my favorite organizers for small spaces!

  1. Wood household furniture has one thing really natural concerning it.
There is this feeling of comfort, of attribute and also of style that can be actually be located in wood furnishings.
Wood is actually born from the earth.

    • This is true. I actually have a lot of wooden and wicker organizers in my home. I think the best way to get eco-friendly materials is to buy secondhand, but for this article I was opting for new items that promote sustainability in a unique way so people could get ideas for their homes or for family and friends!
